New Year's Revolutions

  • I was reading this post by Mark Batterson today and it is awesome!
  • Do we set goals for our life so it will benefit us or others?
  • What if we set goals that centered around giving ourselves away?
If you are like me, you have unsuccessfully made New Year's resolutions in the past. Its gets old hearing about our failed attempts at changing the way we live our lives, doesn't it? It's so easy to let life control us, instead of dreaming dreams about a more full life. God wants us to dream. He created us to reach beyond what is imaginable to what is promised (Ephesians 3:20; John 10:10). What is your dream for your life? What is your dream for the church? Do the size of your dreams reflect how big our God is? I'm excited about what 2009 holds for our church. I'm praying to witness revolutions, not just resolutions. I'm asking God to powerfully change lives and to use us to do it. I'm asking him to move and act in a revolutionary way.
As for volunteers and leaders in churches, you have GOT to read this post by Perry Noble, Senior Pastor of NewSpring Church in Anderson, SC. Are you begging God for this to be true of your church?

I keep a list of shared items on this blog that I come across from time to time. It will give you an idea of the types of blogs I'm reading on the internet. I read them using Google Reader, which is a simple way to organize what I'm interested in reading. I will add to them as I come across something that I want to share with people. Enjoy!
